things you will need:

photoshop or an equivalent program that can utilize layer masks
these blending masks
desired color actions

note: this tutorial only showcases facial smoothing but the same concepts can be applied to other parts as well!





first, open up your base texture. it should be anywhere from maxis's s1 to s2 but not very much darker than that.





run your first color! ignore pixelation, we'll fix that.





drag and drop it onto the other (layer mask) document!










































other things to note:

bodies are similar. my mask set contains masks for all of those so hopefully that's enough to get you started!

also never use reduce noise on freckled skins! only use a gaussian blur layer on extreme pixelation and make sure that none of the freckled areas are blurred.
